I'll tell you - the same thing that gives you the right to sleep securely knowing that if something bad happens to you, your family or your home you can dial 911 and have a squad care, fire truck, or ambulance come to your aid. It's the same thing that lets you drive on the road that's paid for by my taxes, even though I personally may not drive on it. It's the same thing that lets your children or grandchildren go to adequately funded schools and get taught by adequately paid teachers, which are paid for in part by my tax dollars even though I'm not a student.Why am I okay with all of the above? Besides benefiting myself from basic public safety services, it's good for me for you to be able to drive on the roads you drive on. You're part of the same economy that I'm a part of and you contribute to the same GDP that I do. By virtue of your kids getting a decent education I'll one day benefit from whatever work they do to make the world a better place. At a minimum, by getting a decent education and embarking on a career your kids or grandkids won't be breaking into my house or mugging me on the street.?
